Creamy Garlic Sauce for Papa Murphy's Gourmet Vegetarian Pizza

Papa Murphy's Gourmet Vegetarian Pizza Copy Cat

I made this pizza for a vegetarian family get together, but all over the internet, copy cat recipes said to use Ranch salad dressing for the sauce (sounds strange eh?).  I did that and well, it tasted like a salad on pizza crust.  It wasn't the addictive pizza I remember, so I came up with my own creamy garlic sauce and made another pizza.  This one was MUCH, MUCH better and tasted like what I remember.  We did half the pizza with veggies and half with southwest grilled chicken (taco seasoning + chicken).  They were both delicious.

Creamy Garlic Sauce for one 12" pizza.

1 1/2 Tbs butter
1 1/2 Tbs cream cheese
3/4 cup milk
1/2 Tbs cornstarch
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper (optional)
pinch of dill (optional)
2 1/2 Tbs grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Melt the butter and cream cheese together over medium heat, it might not completely combine, but it gets close.  Dissolve cornstarch into cold milk.  Stir milk into butter/cream cheese mixture and bring to a boil.  Cook until thick then add seasonings to taste.  I just guesstimated how much to use.  Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese.  I think you could add minced garlic at the beginning with the butter too.  There are so many variations possible.

Pizza Veggies
-baby spinach
-sliced zucchini
-chopped onions (red and white)
-chopped tomato
-chopped mushroom
-artichoke hearts

Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese

The crust I used in the picture above is a great gluten free crust that I found here.

Sounds yummy and much better then the recipes that call for Ranch dressing. Thanks for posting. It's one of my favorite pizzas!

Good to know I didn't think the ranch one sounded right. Will be making this on Saturday. I'm excited I don't like using processed Alfredo sauce for pizzas just not the same. Thanks for the recipe.

Hi, I just have to comment on my own post. Sorry to all those who like Ranch on Papa Murphy's pizza. I used something cheap on mine which is why it tasted off. If you make your own ranch or use a very high quality, I think your pizza will taste fantastic! This recipe is really an alfredo type sauce with ranch dressing seasonings. I love alfredo which is richer than salad dressing, so that is why I make mine this way. Just something to consider when you are making your own yummy pizza.
