Baby pictures

DA is almost a month old. Today we went to the pediatrician. He checks out well! 11 lbs 2 oz now. I have him in 6-9 month clothes and diapers for 14lb babies (AP can and does wear the same ones!)

The doc said I simply must supplement vitamin D. I hate baby vitamins and the resulting black poo and my gut feeling is that they aren't needed, so I consulted my old friend Kellymom (actually its just a really good website)and she explained the reason behind prescribing vitamins http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/vitamin-d.html
Kellymom also helped me decide about when to start solids and whether or not to give my kids fluoride.

2 year Birthday!!!

AP's favorite movie by far is WALL-E she loved her cake

She liked the boingy bow

She loved this card, it sang happy birthday. She carried it around everywhere for a few days.

She got Legos and a bike. This is her first creation "Lego Ship" then she added a few more blocks and called it "Lego temple". (The stuff on her face is chocolate mint ice cream and on her shirt is water.)

My first FBCT cake (Frozen Buttercream Transfer). This was fun, I'll definitely do it again. We also voted that from now on all birthday cakes will be chocolate. This one was yellow cake and yellow cake just can't compete.

Square Watermelon

I always like to buy seeded watermelon because I think they taste better. Maybe there isn't really a difference. Anyway, I wonder what these melons would taste like?
from the blog of Dan Koifman:
"A round watermelon can take up a lot of room in a refrigerator and the usually round fruit often sits awkwardly on refrigerator shelves.
Smart Japanese Farmers have forced their watermelons to grow into a square shape by inserting the melons into square, tempered glass cases while the fruit is still growing on the vine."

Well endowed

On Monday, we went to the Oquirr Mountain Temple openhouse. It was a little hectic getting out the door, and it wasn't until we arrived at the temple that we noticed that little AP had stuffed her dress with nursing pads. She's been watching me close this week... We took the pads away and she fussed "my bra!!!! my bra!!!"

AJ has been waiting and waiting to hold the baby. She kept telling me he was going to be soooo cute and sure enough! He is.

This looks like J's smile when he came to pick me and the baby up from the hospital, he was so excited!

Coming home with a new baby

Okay, the birth of this baby was a little tense because it happened in the middle of the night and I had a hard time waking my husband up to go to the hospital. We made it there though and that is what counts. It was a wonderful birth and coming home was made very pleasant by my mom and husband.

1-My husband and son picked me and baby up at the hospital, the glow on my son's face was priceless.
2-I told my husband I wanted lots of fruit when I came home, so he stopped at my favorite store, Sunflower Market and got all-you-can eat peaches, apples, cherries, raspberries, plums, pineapple, watermelon, bananas, blueberries, lettuce, green beans, and broccoli. Yum, yum!
3-A balloon bouquet announcing, it's a boy. I love how balloons make things festive, especially for new babies.
4-Flowers, four orange roses and white daisies, my new favorites.
5-Hot lasagne dinner, fresh french bread, and perfect chocolate cookies (still warm), from my visiting teacher.
6-My one year old can say the baby's name perfectly. J still calls him Bubba which is cute too.
7-Grandma read the kids stories all night and got them ready for bed, so nice to have a helper!
8-I came home on laundry day and the laundry was completely done!
9-The kitchen was cleaner than it has been in months!

4-No tearing, a first!
5-Best baby at learning how to nurse that I've had
6-Biggest baby by 14oz
7-First overdue baby
8-Nicest hospital out of the three I've been to
9-Easiest recovery
